The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and its Endless Possibilities

by: Maria Teresa Llera 2013-40924

Nowadays, it’s so rare to see a person who has yet to have a cellular phone. Almost everyone has one, whether it has a camera or not, whether is it is a touchscreen phone or not, or whether it has GPS or not. Cellular phones have become a very essential part of our lives, and nowadays they are used not only for communication, but also for leisure and social networking. Because of this trend, more and more users take great steps in finding the perfect phone for them. For me, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 might just be the one.

Released on September 4, 2013, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which was also a great success after it Samsung sold millions of copies of it. The difference between the two is that the Note 3 has a larger display (although its size is smaller than the Note 2), faster processor and more RAM, has a better battery life, better camera and video recorder, and is lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

This device is very powerful because of its set of specs. It has 3GB of RAM, which is a first ever in the world of cellular phones. It also has a 2.3GHz quad-core processor. One can also take very clear pictures with its 13MP camera. It has a great battery life, thanks to its 3200 mAh battery, it also has a  MicroUSB 3.0 charging port, which is also a first. Other specs include a 3.5mm headset jack, 4G LTE,  32/64GB storage, IR Blaster, and 5.7-inch screen with 1080 display.

The physical appearance of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is also very sophisticated. Although it is bigger than most phones and that a person with small hands might have a hard time keeping a strong grip on it, it is lighter than the Note 2 and it is also significantly slimmer. Its back is made of a faux-leather design with a stitching, a new improvement from the usual plasticky-feel phone. Samsung chose the faux-leather design so that the phone would resemble a traditional planner. It also has an S pen, by the way, which can be very useful in some cases.

Because of its great amount of memory and specs, one may think that there is too much functionality that is packed in the phone, and there is a great possibility that one would have a hard time maximizing its use and learning all the services that this phone can offer. One can therefore say that with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, one really needs patience to be able to learn everything about the phone. This phone can handle a huge amount of applications, and knowing how to operate this phone brings endless possibilities.

Indeed, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is like a music player, because just like what Steve said onstage in the movie Jobs, “It is a tool for the heart, because when someone can touch someone’s heart, that’s limitless.”
